Scott Faber is Vice President for Federal Affairs for GMA/FPA, a food industry trade organization. Prior to joining GMA/FPA, Scott managed the Healthy Farms, Healthy Food Campaign for Environmental Defense, a national environmental organization. Scott is recognized as a leader in promoting greater USDA conservation funding on Capitol Hill and in the national media. A 1999 graduate of Georgetown Law School, Faber served as Senior Director of Public Policy at American Rivers from 1993 to 2000, establishing and managing campaigns to restore the Mississippi, Missouri and Snake rivers.
He is a widely recognized expert on the value of floodplains, publishing several reports and articles on floodplain values and floodplain policy. He has extensive experience in legislative and administrative efforts to promote greater wetlands and habitat protection and restoration by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Scott served as the primary representative for Environmental Defense on Capitol Hill during the 2002 Farm Bill, and worked with a broad coalition of conservation, sustainable agriculture, wildlife, and public health organizations seeking greater USDA conservation funding. Scott is a native of Massachusetts and been a resident of Washington, D.C. since 1989. He holds a JD from Georgetown University.
