William is Professor of Soil Biogeochemistry, Dept. Land, Air and Water Resources, University of California, Davis, and has been in the Department since 1996. Previously he studied at Oregon State University and was a Research Soil Microbiologist with the USDA ARS and also was a Faculty Research Associate at Oregon State University. He teaches courses on Nutrient Cycling and Management, Organic Chemistry of Soil and Ecosystems and Landscape Ecology. William holds a Ph.D. in Soil Science from the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences, and a Ph.D. in Forest Ecology from the Department of Forestry, College of Agriculture, Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan.
